After you have climbed down the ladder you will ned up somewhere that looks like this:

Now follow the path along. You will come to quite a big room with a furnace straight ahead, brown rocks on one side, grey rocks on the other side and a Mining Instructor walking around:

Talk to the Mining Instructor, Dezzick to be precise. He will ask you your name, it will automatically tell him. The Mining Instructor will tell to prospect the rocks (see what ores they contain). To do this, right click on the rock with the flashing arrow above it, from the drop-down menu selct 'Prospect Rocks'. The character will pause by the rock for a few seconds before telling you that the rock is tin. Now go and do the same thing over on one of the brown rocks. The rock is copper.

Go and talk to the Mining Instructor again. The Mining Instructor will give you a pick-axe and tell you to mine some tin (the grey rocks). To do this, wield the pick-axe by clicking on it, then click on the rock you wish to mine.

You have just mined some tin! Now you need to mine some copper (brown rocks). Do this now.

Now you have both copper and tin, use either of them on the furnace to make a bar of bronze!

Speak to the Mining Instructor again to learn how to make the bar of bronze into a weapon! The Mining Instructor gives you hammer. Now go and use the bar of bronze on an anvil. Select the dagger from the box and your character will start to hammer.

 Now go through the gate with the yellow flashing arrow above it. You will arrive in an area with some giant rats in a pit and a Combat Instructor walking around:

Speak to the Combat Instructor. He will teach you how to wield a weapon. First click on the flashing icon (arrows pointing to figure). This shows you what items you have equipped, by clicking on items in here you can return them to your inventory.

Click on the inventory tab to return to inventory. Click on the dagger to wield it. The dagger will now be displayed in the 'Items Equipped View'. Speak to the Combat Instructor again. He will give you a bronze sword and a wooden shield. Wield them both then click on the flashing icon (swords crossed). Here you can choose the typed of attack you wish to use.

 Now click on the gates indicated by the yellow flashing arrow. You must now attack a rat. To do this click on one or right click and select 'attack'.  Once you have killed the rat, go back through the gate and talk to the Combat Instructor.

He gives you a bow and 50 bronze arrows. Wield both of these by clicking on them. Now attack a rat from this side of the fence. You can shoot the rat through the fence. Easy!

You have now completed the tasks here, move on up the ladder indicated by the yellow flashing arrow.

You appear on the ground by a big building:

Go into the big building which is in fact a bank. Click on a bank booth to use it. The banker will ask whether you want to want to access your bank account. Click 'yes'. You can withdraw and deposit items in your bank by clicking on them. To withdraw or deposit different amounts of an item, right click on the item and select the amount or click 'withdraw x' and make your own amount. Now close the bank view.

Click on the door indicated by the flashing arrow. Talk to the 'financial adviser'. He tells you how to make money, but for better guidance visit out Guide to Making Money. Now go through the next door.

Follow the path down to the church to learn about prayer. Go into the church and speak to 'Brother Brace'. First click on the flashing icon (white star) to open your list of prayers.

Talk to 'Brother Brace' again. He will tell you about prayer, then about your friends list. Click on the flashing icon (yellow smiley) to open your friends list. Then click on the flashing red smiley to open your ignore list.

Talk to 'Brother Brace' again.

He will tell you more about your friends and ignore lists. Now proceed through the door indicated by the yellow flashing arrow.

Follow the path to the next building. Go inside and talk to the 'Magic Instructor'. Click on the flashing icon (spell book). This is a list of the spells in Runescape.

The 'Magic Instructor' gives you some runes. Select the wind strike spell from the spell book and use it on a chicken.

Speak with the 'Magic Instructor' again and he will teleport you to the mainland.

You have now complete the Tutorial to Runescape. Now you can begin playing the real thing!
