Tutorial Island
The first time you log into Runescape you will arrive at a screen that looks like this:
Here you can choose what your character will look like. You select the type of clothes then the colour. You can also change factors to do with the body. Don't worry about choosing the perfect look, as later in the game, at any time and for a price, you can change all these features of you character.
Once you have chosen your look you will arrive here:
This is your first look of what Runescape is. Practise walking around and looking around. One thing not many people know is that you can talk. You do this by typing something then pressing enter. Once you are ready, talk to the Runescape Guide.
The guide will tell you more about Runescape, when he is finished open and go through the door with the flashing arrow above it. Follow the path along until you arrive here:

Open the the door and go inside. Here there is a 'master chef'. He will tell you how to mix ingredients to cook food and how your music player works.
First up, talk to him. After a small conversation he will give you a bucket of water and a pot of flour. To make bread you must first make dough. To make dough you must use water with flour. So highlight either the bucket of water or the pot of flour by clicking on it. It will now be outlined in white. Click on the other item to use them together.
You will now have some dough, you can drop the empty bucket and pot. Use the dough on the cooking range indicated by the yellow flashing arrow. You will now attempt to cook a loaf of bread! If you burn it, don't worry. Just talk to the chef again and he will give you more ingredients.
When you have successfully cooked a loaf of bread it will tell you to click on the flashing icon on the bottom left side corner of the game screen (a harp thing). This is very simply a list of music that you will unlock as you explore the world of Runescape!
Now make your way through the other door indicated by the flashing arrow. You will learn how to run now! Again clik on the new flashing icon (a figure). Now click on the run button:
This changes you move speed and makes you move faster. Note: you can only run if you have energy, running will use up energy but you will gain it back.
Follow the path round to arrive at a house that looks like this:
Go through the door with the yellow flashing arrow above it. Now talk to the quest guide, he tells you to open the quest journal, so click on the flashing icon (a blue star). Then talk to the quest guide again. He will telll you some stuff about quests, so if you want to know it read carefully.
The quest guide suggests to you that there may be some adventure in the caves under his house. So click on the ladder in the corner of the room (with the yellow flashing arrow above it). You will know appear in some underground caves.
